 How long does it take to install XIPTEL phone service?

If you already have broadband services, it can take just days to add XIPTEL phone service.  If we are ordering new T-1 or DSL service for you, the install time will be about 30 days.

 

Can I transfer my old business phone numbers to my new XIPTEL phone service?

YES, you can transfer your old numbers as well as Toll Free numbers to our services. Number porting requests will be submitted to your existing phone service carrier and may take several weeks to be completed.

 

What phone handsets does XIPTEL support?

Most of our customers use Polycom, Linksys (Cisco) Snom phones. 

 

Can I use a softphone to save money?

Software phones, like the eyeBeam 1.5  work just fine. Simply use a headset and microphone which plugs in to your computer. 

 

Can I use XIPTEL phone service over Wi-Fi?

Many of our customers use wireless LANs and have had excellent call quality.  If you are using public Wi-Fi services (Hot Spots)you may experience call quality problems because quality of service (QoS) is typically not  implemented on most public Wi-Fi networks.

 

Is XIPTEL phone service safe and secure?

XIPTEL’s business phone systems are located in secure cages inside access controlled hosting facilities. We constantly monitor our systems to detect fraud or intrusions. User access is pass-word protected to avoid unauthorized calling activity.
